One of the most trending companies within the ”make money online” niche is called Income School. The company is owned by two chatty Americans named Rick and Jim (can it become more American?!). I have seen all of their YouTube videos, read all of their content and spoken to people who bought the Project 24 course. This is my 100 % honest and unbiased review.
If you came here to read about the 60 steps: please scroll down two paragraphs and you will find a summary of their “secret recipe”.
What is Project 24 and what did you get by purchasing the course?
Rick and Jim have developed what they call a success recipe to create passive income within 24 months. The whole selling point is that: if you buy the course today, we will help you to quit your job within two years if you follow our guidance. Simple as that.
In addition to that, you will get access to some exclusive videos that guide you through some of the most crucial steps in order to make a successful website. It is worth mentioning that these guys are the real deal. On their website, they publically announce the URL, traffic reports and income reports from most of their niche websites. This is something that very few online marketing gurus dare to do (in fear of being copied or hacked).
What are the famous 60 steps that you can find in Project 24? [Summary]
Many people are going online to see if they can find these 60 steps for free. After all: it would save them hundreds of dollars. I have seen these steps, but I have no intend of giving them all away. I guess that would get me in trouble somehow.
What I will do is summarize them for you. So this is more or less a summary of Project 24`s 60 steps:
1. Find your niche
Find a niche that you want to work in. There are many criterias to what Rick and Jim would call a good niche to work in.
– You need to find a niche that preferably should have products that people often buy online (bicycles, Peppa Pig merchandise, advanced calculators, etc., etc.).
– The average order value of such products should range between 50 USD and 500 USD. The reason for that is simple: you don’t get much commission through Amazon affiliate program on products valued less than 50 USD. And people tend to do more extensive research from bigger websites when they purchase products above 500 USD.
– Please have in mind that this is something that you will work with for at least 2 years and that it is definitely an advantage if you have some sort of interest for what you are writing about.
2. Domain and hosting
Buy domain and hosting at Bluehost. I am quite sure that they ask you to purchase through their affiliate link…
They are also telling you how to choose the name/branding of your website. Your domain name should not be product focused (e.g. ray-ban-sunglasses.com), but rather say something about your niche (e.g. sunglassesmania.com).
3. Write, write, write!
Write a blog post a day. If you use WordPress, which they REALLY recommend, you can easily schedule posts for the future. Write at least 60 blog posts.
Time management and planning is also highlighted in this project. In other words: you should write down a plan for the next six months where you clearly state all the tasks that need to be done. No shortcuts – and no change of plans.
4. Write the right type of content
Before writing these blog posts, you need to know about two things. One is the different types of posts that can be written – and the other one is about content length. According to Project 24, there are three different types of articles:
– Quick content that could go viral [600-800 words]
– Longer blog posts that answer a direct question [1000-2000 words]
– Pillar articles that will make you money [2000-4000 words]
Another thing that is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT in terms of content creation is the quality of the content. And we are not only talking about writing good English or running your content through Grammarly. Project 24 tells you that one of the most important things to succeed online is to create content that is based on real-life experiences.
In other words: if your niche is about Ray-Ban sunglasses, you HAVE TO buy a couple of sunglasses, put them on your head, take five pictures, and carefully write about everything that springs to mind in regards to these products. That is what it takes. People don’t want to read some fake review about some product that they have never owned. And Google, luckily, gets smarter and smarter to split fake reviews from real reviews.
5. Affiliate programs and ads? Not yet!
Don’t think about monetizing your content yet. Once you got traffic, you can start to think about earning a dime or two by putting in Amazon affiliate links and or ads/Adsense. However, according to Project 24, it takes years to build up a high-quality website, but only less than 3 hours to monetize it properly. In other words: don’t think about this – yet.
The money will come.
Rick and Jim constantly talk about how patience will make you money. As long as you regularly post high-quality content, Google will reward you in the end.
According to Project 24, it takes 35 weeks for content to find the place it deserves in SERP (Search Engine Result Page). In other words: have patience! The content you write today is the content that will make you money in about 8 months’ time.
7. Design and logo
Get a proper logo. One thing that is clearly highlighted is that unless you are good at making a logo yourself, you should outsource this job to someone at Fiverr (or similar websites). People will recognize your website by your logo, and it creates trust to have decent-looking images on your website.
8. “Make it personal!”
Don’t be afraid to put your name and picture on your website. You can clearly see that all of their own niche websites have a widget on their front page where it says something like [using camperreport.com as an example]:
“Hi, I am Jim and this is my website about camping. I live in Tulsa, Texas and love to take my kids out to a long camping weekend, bla bla bla”.
You are probably not instantly becoming an authority in your niche, but it helps your readers to trust you. At least to know where they are getting their information from.
9. Record a video…or 10!
Create a YouTube channel where you continuously post videos about your niche. According to the Project 24 backend, this is something that a lot of people ignore because they don’t feel comfortable in front of a camera. However, a successful Youtube channel can be an AMAZING traffic driver to your niche site.
10. Link building? Nah. Not needed!
Do not care about link-building, PBNs or any other ways of manipulating Googles` search results. The only way you should improve your Google rankings is simply through posting high-quality content online. According to the project, this is a response to Googles` ever-changing algorithm. Quality-content will always rank high, but websites that buy or build links will at some point get punished.
That was a summary of the 60 steps you can get from Project 24. Naturally, I was not able to get all the details. As I said before: that would probably also be legal. However, most of these tips and tricks are something that Jim and Rick have already highlighted through their Youtube channel, so I am not exactly doing something illegal here.
Is it worth spending money on Income School?
If you go into Google and type in “Income School Review”, you will unfortunately find a lot of biased content. I even saw that some people have started to use affiliate links for Project 24, which means that they get paid for every referral. Funny that Jim and Rick constantly (and rightfully!!) tell people not to fill the Internet with fake/biased reviews, but still have people writing them to promote their own product. I guess this is not their fault though.
In terms of value: not sure that you need it if you know a thing or two about making websites. I mean, Project 24 does not really come up with anything revolutionary. What it all comes down to is that they ask people to write useful content that should be published on a user-friendly, pretty and personalized website. That is what it comes down to.
If you know how to set up a WordPress website, find a niche and create a logo in Canva – you don’t really need to buy Project 24. But if you are a completely newbie that has never made a WordPress site and are not sure what HTML stands for – well, then you might give it a shot. What I can say is that the project is 100 % newbie-friendly, which makes it applicable for everyone that wants to try to make money online.
Which YouTube videos should I watch to understand Project 24?
Income School is not only a company that sells a “hidden course behind a payment wall”. They also publish an awful lot of content on YouTube. Many of them contain information that are quite obvious and not so useful. However, they do have some quite decent videos as well.
These three videos will more or less summarize 90 % of what Project 24 is about:
Video 1: 5 things to know about SEO
This video goes into the core of the Project 24 guidelines. It describes exactly why Rick and Jim thinks that Google appreciates the way that they make content, and why you will succeed if you do the same.
Video 2: Niche site reviews
This is a very interesting video because it highlights the problems that 90 % of “niche site failures” meet when they aren’t succeeding with making money online. Please watch this video and make sure that you don’t fall into the same traps. It can save you a lot of time.
Video 3: Negotiation techniques
This is one of their best videos. It does not directly relate to making a passive income website, but it covers a lot of interesting tips. After reading “Never Split the Difference”, I could see where they got some of their inspiration from. Really good video.
Which projects have turned out to be successful for “the Income School Guys”?
Most of us love to hear success stories from people who succeeded with making money online. It gives us motivation and keeps us work hard towards reaching some kind of goal. Rick and Jim have published all of their income streams on their website. Right now, it looks like this:
Dirtbikeplanet: 2500 USD/month.
Camperreport: 8000 USD/month.
diyhousesecurity.com: 40 USD/month.
…and I could go on and on and on.
But there is one website that has a significantly higher monthly income than the other ones.
Incomeschool.com: 60,000 USD/month.
In other words: they earn MUCH more on telling people how to earn money online rather than actually earning money online. Don’t get me wrong: they have made some pretty impressive websites with great income streams over the years. However, it is quite clear that it is more of a lucrative business to tell other people how they should succeed rather than keep continuing building websites on their own.
Nothing in this world is real anymore, is it?
